This natural area provides hunting, fishing, hiking, canoeing and other recreational opportunities. The Area is part of a partnership this is working to protect and restore a 60,000-acre wetland corridor along 50 miles of the Cache River. Partners include the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Cypress Creek National Wildlife Refuge, The Nature Conservancy, Ducks Unlimited and the Citizens Committee to Save the Cache River.
