This magnificent Greek Revival building was built in 1841 and was the home of the Bank of Illinois. The building has survived the Civil War, the Great Depression of the 1930s and the Ohio River flood in 1937. The flood damaged most of Shawneetown and most of the town’s businesses and residents moved the new Shawneetown. The bank, which closed in 1942, This location is not open to the public
